Volunteer with Hospice

Volunteer training happens throughout the year on an individual basis. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact the Hospice office at 745-9254 or email the Volunteer Coordinator. We are always looking for individuals with big hearts and helpful hands for help with the many projects and patients that we coordinate and serve. If you are interested in volunteering, we will have you complete a volunteer application and give you a personal interview to see how your unique personality fits with Hospice of Laramie.

Commit to Making A Difference Today...Volunteer!

Volunteers at Hospice of Laramie are an integral part of our team.  We recognize that without volunteers, Hospice could not maintain their quality of service to Albany County residents.  Volunteers not only assist with patients, they also help in the business office and with fundraisers.

Volunteer Duties:

?      Answering phones/assisting with the loan closet

?      Meal preparation and/or assistance with feeding the patient

?      Transportation of patient/caregiver (only if you want)

?      Encouraging interest in hobbies or activities

?      Other tasks as desired or asked

?      Assistance with fundraisers

?      Companionship visits

?      Shopping and errands

?      Light housekeeping

?      Emotional support

To become a Hospice of Laramie volunteer, you must contact the Hospice of Laramie office with your interest. We will have you complete a volunteer application and schedule an interview for you with the Volunteer Coordinator. After the interview, volunteers are screened with background and reference checks. Once a volunteer is cleared, then each volunteer must participate in either an online orientation or a DVD orientation. Finally, all volunteers must be screened for tuberculosis (this is done for free by our nurses).

And thanks to wonderful volunteers we are able to meet the needs of our patients and their loved ones.

Our volunteers participate in training sessions throughout the year. Training sessions cover all aspects of Hospice to help prepare volunteers for visits to the patient's home.....
